The Chesapeake Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated was the sixth chapter to be incorporated in November 1970. Throughout the years, the Chesapeake chapter has prided itself in giving back to the community. The organization continues to grow, and is steadfast and serenely dedicated to the motto of “striving not to equal, but to excel.”
Norfolk, Virginia is proud to claim the title of Mother Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated. In 1948, a group of friends organized in Norfolk, Virginia, having as its founder, Mrs. Geraldine Dodson Randle. Seventy-five years later, the Norfolk Chapter Delicados continues to pursue the dreams of our founders! We salute and thank our founding and charter members and especially our current and active founding emeritus members Vivian Brown West and Evelyn White Brissette and our “chapter mom”, emeritus Barbara Foster for their vision and continuous support and love!
The Portsmouth Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated was founded by Geraldine H. Harding. This non-profit organization was chartered in November 1964. We have continuously been actively involved in implementing the national organization’s programs in our community through civic, cultural and educational programs in the city of Portsmouth.
The Richmond Chapter was the eighth chapter to be chartered, in May, 1984. Our members include women from Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Glen Allen, Mechanicsville and King William County. We are divided into regional clusters with names such as: East-West Crossing, South of the James, Richmond North, Henrico Heights and Parham Park.
The Virginia Beach Chapter of Delicados, Inc. was inducted in April 1988.Through the years our chapter has been giving back to the community. The organization continues to grow and is dedicated to our motto ”striving not to equal but to excel.”
The Annapolis Chapter of Delicados was incorporated in March 1968, becoming the fifth chapter of Delicados, Incorporated. The chapter is dedicated to serving the community through its annual high school scholarship program for graduating seniors and donations to Toys for Tots. Additionally, the chapter engages in several projects to support health outcomes for seniors, children, food pantries and donations to the Parole Community Health Center. Our commitment follows our national motto “We strive not to equal but to excel” in all we do to support our community outreach.
The Baltimore Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated was the seventh chapter to be incorporated on November 10, 1979. For decades we have dedicated our lives to the continued work of enhancing the lives of families within Baltimore communities through our commitment to service, community and sisterhood.
The St. Mary's Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated was inducted in 1994. Since that time, the chapter has been involved in numerous community service projects including school mentoring programs, Annual Children's Day, Women's Wellness and support for local food pantries.
The Knightdale Chapter of Delicados, Incorporated was organized under the name of Women With a Purpose in October of 2021. The chapter was inducted into National Delicados, Inc in September of 2023 and continues to support community service projects that support women and children socially, emotionally and educationally.
The Raleigh Chapter supports numerous community service programs including but not limited to Back-A-Child Program, Wake County Sickle Cell Anemia Support Group Chapter Inc., NAACP, and theWake County Boys and Girls Club. We also established a scholarship fund in honor of The Raleigh Chapter founders and chapter members, and our Promenade of Roses to honor Wake County Senior Citizens.

The Washington Chapter Delicados, Inc. is located in the Nation’s Capital, Washington, DC. The chapter was established in August of 1961, being the second chapter chartered in the organization. We have been in existence for over 52 years, serving our local communities within the District, Maryland, and Northern Virginia areas (also known as the DMV).
